Scan/Pivot/Act is an exclusive learning model built into all of EML Executive Development's competencies development programmes.

 

SCAN : Explore and analyse

Before starting a programme in its entirety, and again before each module is treated, the participant is invited, with the help of EML-developed tools and methods, to ask the right questions: to observe, to question his or her own practices, to collect information within his or her company in connection with the training topic. Based on this research, one scans, early in the programme or before beginning a module, the practices and environment of the participants, as well as the problems that their companies may face.

 

PIVOT : Learning from others

As a second step, testimonials and feedback from the first stage are shared. The effect of the group, through consolidation, discussion and comparison between participants brings a maximum richness and a wide-angle view on the subject. Participants then turn to other businesses with noteworthy practices, and towards the contribution of related fields. To facilitate this transfer of knowledge, they are confronted with outside contacts who solved the same problems in similar cases. The sharing of experiences is organized around a pivot point: an expert in the subject who opens the field as widely as possible, allowing identification of new paths.

 

ACT : Identify Areas for Action

In the third step, participants are asked to analyse and evaluate the different solutions that may be adopted. They will identify what steps are to be taken at their level and what behavioural changes should be made. At the same time, they begin thinking about moving into action: the application of these solutions to their own position and their own company.
